A stretch of I-25 in downtown had to be closed for several hours after a semi-truck hit and damaged an overpass, according to 9 News. Despite signs more than a mile in advance of the overpass indicating overpass clearance heights and which lane commercial vehicles should drive in, a commercial truck in the wrong lane hit the overpass at Speer Blvd late in the morning. Pieces of concrete and metal rained down, damaging four other vehicles, and causing serious injury to one driver. The road was closed for about four hours, and the driver was cited for a misdemeanor criminal offense in connection with the crash.

Tragic Car Crash Takes 2 Lives

A tragic car accident claimed two lives, according to 9 News. A man driving an SUV, along with an infant sitting in the seat behind him, were killed after their SUV was struck by a truck in the intersection at I-225 and East 17th Place. Car Crashes Into Store

Denver Police are working to get to the bottom of a crash which sent a car 50 feet inside a retail store in near, according to CBS Denver. Around noon, a driver whose car was parked says that she accidentally pushed the gas pedal instead of the brake, and she drove into the Cost Plus store on Cross Dr. near Southwest Plaza Mall. Fortunately, no one was hurt, even though the car apparently did not immediately stop upon entering the store, continuing until it was well inside.
