Far too many Texans lose family members every year as a result of the negligent actions of others. When this happens, the victim’s loved ones have the right to pursue restitution for their emotional suffering and financial losses with a wrongful death lawsuit. Due to the complex nature and a large amount of compensation that is usually at stake, defendants will often contest Texas wrongful death lawsuits. Thus, in order to get the compensation to which you are entitled, you will likely need the help of a skilled and seasoned wrongful death lawyer. Our attorneys know how to protect the rights of grieving families, and we will do whatever we can legally to help them find the compensation they deserve. As we mentioned, wrongful death lawsuits can involve several different types of accidents, such as drunk driving accidents, fatal construction accidents, deadly 18-wheeler collisions, car wrecks, and fatal workplace mishaps just to name a few. Actionable negligence can occur intentionally or just accidentally as a result of momentary carelessness or inattention, and any many cases more than one party will have caused or contributed to the cause of the fatal accident.
While the statute of limitations after a negligent injury or wrongful death in Texas is two years, you need to act immediately to give yourself the best chance of securing the compensation you deserve if you’ve been injured or a family member has been killed by someone else’s negligence. Success with a personal injury or wrongful death claim requires evidence, and that evidence can only be found through a quick and thorough investigation. In most accident situations, the evidence begins to fade away or become altered quickly. Thus, you should contact our Law Firm today, so that you give yourself the best opportunity of delivering justice and recovering the compensation to which you are entitled. We’ve taken on every major insurance company in the state and compiled a long track record of success.

A stretch of I-25 in downtown had to be closed for several hours after a semi-truck hit and damaged an overpass, according to 9 News. Despite signs more than a mile in advance of the overpass indicating overpass clearance heights and which lane commercial vehicles should drive in, a commercial truck in the wrong lane hit the overpass at Speer Blvd late in the morning. Pieces of concrete and metal rained down, damaging four other vehicles, and causing serious injury to one driver. The road was closed for about four hours, and the driver was cited for a misdemeanor criminal offense in connection with the crash.
Have you or a family member been hurt by the careless driving of a commercial truck driver? Speak with a dedicated commercial vehicle accident attorney today.
While most commercial truck drivers are excellent, well-trained, cautious professionals, there are roughly 3,000 fatal commercial vehicle accidents annually in the United States according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Additionally, there are over 50,000 accidents involving injury, and tens of billions of dollars worth of damage done. Given the extreme size and weight of these vehicles, the potential for damage when a driver is careless, or just plain negligent, is very high. Victims of these accidents may find themselves in serious financial trouble, and in need of debt management assistance. When you are injured by this carelessness, you are entitled to financial compensation for your damages.
Contact a dedicated trucking accident attorney immediately to discuss your options if you or a loved one have been injured in a commercial vehicle accident. Recovering compensation from trucking companies is not always easy; most have insurance companies with experienced lawyers protecting the company’s bottom line. You need a personal injury attorney with a thorough understanding of personal injury law, and experience working with commercial trucking accident victims. Many commercial vehicle accident lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, which means that you pay a fee only after they successfully recover compensation for you.
